How Much Does it Cost:
Aircraft ownership can be confusing and very costly if you do not have help. With help from experienced professional, owning an airplane can be very enjoyable and useful tool in business. You’re thinking how much? Real fixed costs of aircraft ownership are; Pilot/ Management Fees, Insurance, Hangers, Maintenance, and the largest Capital Expenditure.
Capital Expenditure:
This is a very broad range; we deal only with quality aircraft, never take a short cut when you purchase an airplane!
Good single engine aircraft that travel between 165 mph and 210 mph start at $150,000 up to $500,000. Yes there are cheaper and there are more expensive, but this price range can deliver everything you might need in an airplane for safe, fast travel.
Good non-pressurized twin-engine aircraft that travel between 180 mph and 220 mph start at $200,000 up to $700,000. Non-pressurized aircraft are great planes but have some limitations.
Good pressurized twin-engine aircraft that travel between 200 mph and 270 mph start at $300,000 up to $900,000. Pressurized twins typically are quieter and give you a broader range of capabilities.
An aircraft can typically be financed for 10% down and the balance amortized over 20 years. We do not offer financing but we do help you locate an institution that can finance your aircraft at competitive rates.
Insurance:
Insurance is mostly based on type aircraft, cost of the aircraft, and the pilots training and experience. The pilots at Gatsby Aviation will typically bring discounted rates due to their training. Insurance ranges in price from $3000 to $20,0000 a year.
Hangers:
Storage of you’re aircraft should be in a hanger. Hangers are typically leased by the month and range from $300 to $1000 dollars a month.
Maintenance:
Gatsby Aviation has its own maintenance facility and the same mechanics that work on our charter aircraft would maintain your aircraft. For a single engine aircraft maintenance averages around $30 per flight hour and a yearly inspection fee of around $1600. For twin-engine aircraft maintenance averages around $45.00 per flight hour and yearly inspections start around $2600. For pressurized aircraft maintenance averages around $60 per flight hour and yearly inspections start at around $6000 a year.
Pilots/Management Fees:
So that you will always have a pilot available Gatsby Aviation staff full time pilots ready to be called to fly 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The pilots are trained by FAA approved training facilities, and exceed FAA and insurance training requirements. Management includes coordinating all the needs required for ownership of an aircraft, including but not limited to maintenance bulletins and coordination of maintenance, storage, cleaning, navigational updates and renovations. This keeps your aircraft mission ready as much as possible. In addition if your aircraft is unavailable due to maintenance needs we coordinate with our other aircraft owners to make their aircraft available to you. Costs for pilots and management fees are based on the owner's needs and start at $3000 a month.
